James K Boyce is an emeritus professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he is also a senior fellow at the Political Economy Research Institute. He is the recipient of the 2017 Leonteif Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought. He is the author of 18 books, most recently The Case for Carbon Dividends (2019, Polity Press) and Economics for People and the Planet: Inequality in the Era of Climate Change (2019, Anthem Press).
