A Comprehensiveness Found Nowhere Else

Security in Context promotes an understanding of the true meaning and costs of “security” in order to inform more positive global outcomes.

The issues taken up by the SiC initiative are of central importance to academics, policy makers and the informed public. However, we present these issues with a lens, and a comprehensiveness, found nowhere else. SiC’s collaborators center knowledge production taking place in the Global South and encourage a meaningful South-North dialogue on key social, cultural, political and economic dynamics. The SiC project links existing networks (primarily in the Middle East, North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America) with US-based networks, institutions and scholars. In combination with our regular media roundups, our research offers policy makers the data and perspectives to build true security for more of our shared world.

Public Policy Resources

Policy Dialogues are an opportunity to read perspectives of two subject area experts in conversation.

Policy Briefs are summary findings or recommendations for policy makers and their advisers.

Research Papers are original research findings presented for policy-makers, those in policy-adjacent fields, and anyone else with a special interest in a given topic.

Media Roundups are a roundup of news articles, reports, and other materials focusing on (in)security issues and reflecting a wide variety of opinions. It does not reflect the views of Security in Context. The goal is to shed light on security-related issues that are of public interest, and from different perspectives. Entries may include academic journal articles, think tank reports, non-governmental organizations releases, official documents or government commissioned research, and regular news items. Send your own recommendations for inclusion in the roundups to submissions@securityincontext.org
